Key steps
- Flatten them on their back with a crossface and a deep underhook.
- Keep your chest heavy on theirs so they can't turn onto their side.
- Push their knee down with your free foot to loosen their legs around yours.
- Slide your trapped knee out through the gap, then pull your foot free.
- Settle into side control, or step over into mount if your knee clears first.
Key details
- Losing the underhook lets them come up onto their side and work toward your back.
- Staying chest to chest, not sitting up, stops them from rebuilding a knee shield.
