Also called DLR

Key steps
- Snake your leg around their lead leg from outside to in, ending with your foot inside their thigh.
- Grip the ankle of that same leg with your hand on the same side.
- Take a sleeve or collar grip with your other hand, or a wrist in No-Gi.
- Use your other foot against their far hip or biceps to hold the distance.
- Pull their weight onto the hooked leg to set up sweeps and back takes.
Key details
- Without the ankle grip, they can step back and clear your hook.
- A loose hook leaves a gap for them to cut their knee through and pass.
- Pulling their weight toward the hooked leg is what opens the sweeps.
