Key steps
- Set your De La Riva hook and grip the ankle of the hooked leg.
- Take their far sleeve or collar with your other hand to pull them forward.
- Place your free foot on the front of their far hip, knee bent.
- Push the far hip away while you keep the ankle pinned and the hook tight.
- Sit up as they fall backward and come on top while you keep the ankle.
Key details
- The ankle grip stops them stepping back to catch their weight, which is why the push works.
- Pushing a settled opponent only moves you away, so off-balance them first.
