Spider guard sweep

A basic sweep from spider guard. One foot keeps a sleeve arm stretched while the other drops to hook behind their leg, and the sleeve grips tip them over the hook.

Key steps

  1. Hold both sleeves with one foot on a biceps and the other on their hip or biceps.
  2. Take one foot off its biceps and wrap it behind their ankle or knee on the same side.
  3. Straighten the leg that's still on a biceps, raising that arm and turning their shoulders with it.
  4. Pull the sleeve on the hooked side so they can't post, and lift the hooked leg.
  5. Come up on top as they fall, keeping at least one sleeve grip.

Key details

  • The hook stops them stepping back, so the push has nowhere to go but over.
  • If the biceps foot slips, they come forward and start passing.
