Key steps
- Slide your knees up tight to their sides so your hips settle on their belly.
- Hook your feet under their thighs, or spread them wide when you need more base.
- Drop your chest low and post a hand on the mat only when they bridge hard.
- Control their head or an underhook so they can't turn onto their side.
- Climb your knees higher toward their armpits once they stop bucking.
Key details
- Sink your weight into your hips; if you perch upright, their bridge has room to lift and roll you.
- Squeeze your knees in on their ribs to close the gap their knee needs to slide back inside.
- An arm left resting near their chest is easy to trap, so keep your hands busy.
