Key steps
- Push both of their knees over to one side so their legs are stacked together.
- Sit your weight down across their thighs so the legs stay stuck together.
- Grip their far collar, shoulder or head to keep their shoulders on the mat.
- Free your legs by walking your hips toward their head, staying heavy.
- Settle in side control or step your knee over into mount once you're clear.
Key details
- Any gap under your hips is room for a knee to come back in, so keep your hips glued to their legs.
- Controlling their upper body stops them from turning toward you to rebuild their guard.
