Kimura sweep
A sweep from the kimura grip. When they post or pull back to save the shoulder, the grip keeps that arm from posting while you tip them onto their back.

Key steps
- Catch one of their arms in a figure-four kimura grip from guard.
- Sit up into them as they straighten up or post to defend the lock.
- Keep their trapped elbow tight to your chest so the grip stays locked.
- Roll them toward the trapped arm, using the grip to stop them posting.
- Come up on top with the grip still locked and go back to the kimura.
Key details
- The trapped arm can't post, so rolling them toward that side meets little resistance.
- Switching between the lock and the sweep makes each one harder to defend.
