Key steps
- Take a collar grip and a sleeve grip, then unlock your ankles.
- Shrimp your hips out to an angle and slide your top shin across their belly.
- Drop your bottom leg flat to the mat just behind their knee on that side.
- Pull on the sleeve and collar to load their weight onto your shin.
- Kick your top leg over and chop your bottom leg back to scissor them down.
- Follow them as they roll over and settle on top in mount with your base wide.
Key details
- Fold their posture and load their weight onto your shin before you chop, or the sweep stalls.
- Keep the sleeve arm pulled across so they can't post it on the side they fall to.
- Chop at the back of the knee, since chopping the ankle leaves them room to step.
