Also called Body drop

A judo throw where you turn in front of them, block their shin with your leg, and pull them forward over it. It's a hand throw, so there's no lift.

Key steps

  1. Pull their sleeve or wrist forward and to the side to move their weight onto their toes.
  2. Turn in and step across in front of them, without loading them on your hips.
  3. Stretch one leg across the front of their shin to block it.
  4. Pull hard with both hands and turn your body to tip them over the blocking leg.

Key details

  • Leave space between your hips and theirs so the throw comes from your hands and turn, not a lift.
  • Keeping the pull going all the way through stops them from stepping over your leg.
